Cedarwood Oil
Juniperus Virginiana has a pleasant long-lasting aroma and evokes a feeling of balance and a sense of being grounded and connected to the universe. Cedarwood soothes and harmonizes. It's an astringent oil useful for protection and caring for oily, blemished skin and as an inhalant to relieve mucous, colds and coughs. It is one of the best insect and pest repellents, repulsing ants, mice and other rodents. Try it in your wardrobe to repel moths. It can be applied directly to appease oily skin and shaving nicks. Cedarwood is an excellent deodorizer. Use in a soothing footbath or make up a captivating spritzer. For the treatment of acne or pimples dilute and use directly or as part of a skin or facial oil blend. For the maintenance of a healthy scalp and the treatment of dandruff and seborrhea add a couple of drops of cedarwood to the final rinse water when washing your hair. On a physical level, cedarwood has traditionally been used to stop hair loss. Use it with jojoba oil, massage scalp and leave it on through the night. Wash hair the next morning. For best results use it with an astringent carrier oil such as grapeseed or hazelnut oil.
